18-year-old Estevão opened his account in English football — and what a way to do it

Chelsea snatched a dramatic 2–1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge thanks to a 96th-minute winner from teenage sensation Estevão — handing the Reds their third consecutive defeat in all competitions.

Moisés Caicedo opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a thunderous strike into the top corner from distance — his first goal in a Chelsea shirt and one worthy of the highlight reels.

Liverpool found their equaliser midway through the second half when Cody Gakpo pounced on a clever header from Alexander Isak inside the box and rifled the ball home from close range.

Just as the match seemed destined for a draw, it was Chelsea's new Brazilian talent Estevão — only recently signed from Palmeiras — who made the difference. Deep into stoppage time, Marc Cucurella burst free down the left and squared the ball across the face of goal, where Estevão slid in to convert at the far post.

In a poetic twist, Estevão’s last goal at club level before joining Chelsea had come against the Blues — back in June, when he scored for Palmeiras at the FIFA Club World Cup. Tonight, the 18-year-old opened his account in English football — and what a way to do it.
