Mainz 05 - Borussia D 0:2

Borussia Dortmund kept their Bundesliga title hopes alive with a solid 2–0 away win over Mainz, closing the gap on league leaders Bayern Munich.

Two first-half goals proved enough for Dortmund to claim all three points. The opener came in the 27th minute when Svensson tapped in a low cross at the far post. Just before the break, Karim Adeyemi doubled the advantage with a composed finish, slotting low past the goalkeeper from the heart of the six-yard box.

Dortmund faced adversity in the second half after goalkeeper Centner was shown a red card, forcing the visitors to play with ten men for the remainder of the match. Despite the numerical disadvantage, they held firm and saw out a crucial win.

With this result, Borussia Dortmund continue to apply pressure on Bayern Munich at the top of the table, keeping the Bundesliga title race very much alive.
