Marseille hand PSG first defeat of the season

While Paris Saint-Germain were busy collecting major honours at the gala ceremony in the French capital, they slipped to their first setback of the Ligue 1 campaign – beaten 1-0 by arch-rivals Marseille in a rescheduled Matchday 5 fixture.

The clash at the Stade Vélodrome, postponed by 24 hours due to adverse weather, proved worth the wait for the home fans. OM came flying out of the blocks and struck inside five minutes. Nayef Aguerd capitalised on a dreadful misjudgement from goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, nodding the ball into an empty net.
