Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United played out a 1–1 draw in a friendly match during their pre-season tour of the Far East — a fixture marked by an emotional farewell for Spurs captain Son Heung-min.

The South Korean icon, playing in front of his home fans, made his final appearance for the North London club before completing his move to Los Angeles FC. Son started the match and featured for 65 minutes before being substituted by head coach Thomas Frank, receiving a warm ovation from the Seoul crowd.

Tottenham opened the scoring early through Brennan Johnson in the 4th minute, but Harvey Barnes equalized for Newcastle before halftime, ensuring the match ended all square.
