Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga 2025/26 Fixtures: Champions to Host Leipzig in Season Opener

The 2025/26 Bundesliga season gets underway on 22 August with a heavyweight clash at the Allianz Arena, where reigning champions Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig. It's a blockbuster opener to what promises to be another thrilling campaign in German football.

Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern cruised to the title last term, but the road to retaining their crown won’t be easy. The Bavarians are currently competing at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and that will significantly reduce recovery and preparation time for key players ahead of the new campaign.

Smooth start, pressure-packed spring

Expectations in Munich are, as always, sky-high. The early fixtures appear manageable, but October presents a real test: Bayern face a tough run that includes Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg.

That gauntlet returns in reverse during February and March, and could prove decisive in shaping the title race. With the Champions League knockouts also in full swing, Bayern will be hoping to build a comfortable cushion in the Bundesliga by then to maintain focus on Europe’s elite competition.
