Luis Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique says his team is focused on entertaining fans and maintaining momentum as they prepare to face Botafogo in their second group match at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Speaking ahead of the clash with the Copa Libertadores champions, Enrique acknowledged the wave of praise PSG has received following their Champions League triumph, but insisted the team remains grounded and focused on constant improvement.

It’s natural to feel some euphoria after winning the Champions League — it’s no small feat. It’s also nice to hear kind words, but we’re always looking to improve,” he told PSG’s official website.

Respect for Botafogo

The Spanish coach underlined the strength and pedigree of their Brazilian opponents, who lifted South America’s top prize earlier this season.

It’s great to face top teams. Botafogo have a rich history, and they’re Libertadores champions — that gives them motivation to go out and compete at their best. For us, the preparation doesn’t change. We treat every game with the same respect,” he added.

Focus on performance and entertainment

Enrique reiterated PSG’s ambition to deliver a compelling display, both for the fans and as part of the club’s ongoing evolution.

Our goal is simple: to put on a great show for those coming to watch. We want to keep growing as a team — that’s our objective, every single day,” the manager said.

Botafogo vs PSG kicks off on 20 June at 03:00 CET.
