The rising star of Spanish tennis, 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday, September 11, defeated the Norwegian Kasper Ruud (6:4, 2:6, 7:6 (7:1), 6: 3) and became the youngest world number one in history.
The tournament final was held at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York in the presence of about 24,000 spectators. The cash prize for this victory was $2.6 million.
