Sorry, Trubin: Juventus Sign Vicario on Loan With €8m Buy Option

Juventus have officially completed the signing of Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham Hotspur, with the Italy international joining the Turin club on loan for the 2026/27 season. The move brings the 29-year-old goalkeeper back to Serie A after three seasons in the Premier League.
The agreement runs until 30 June 2027 and includes an option for Juventus to make the transfer permanent. Should the Bianconeri decide to activate it, they will pay Tottenham Hotspur €8 million, with a further €2 million potentially due in performance-related bonuses.
For Guglielmo Vicario, the move represents a chance to revive his career in Italy after losing his place in the Tottenham Hotspur starting XI. The goalkeeper made 117 appearances for Spurs and played a key role in the club's UEFA Europa League triumph in 2025.
But for Ukrainian football, the deal has a different significance. The arrival of Guglielmo Vicario closes another potential route to Turin for Anatoliy Trubin and Andriy Lunin. Both Ukrainian goalkeepers had previously been linked with Juventus as the Italian giants assessed their options between the posts.
Instead, Juventus have opted for experience and a relatively low-risk deal, bringing in a goalkeeper with extensive Premier League and Serie A experience while retaining the flexibility to decide on a permanent transfer next summer.
