Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the Spain international putting pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2031. The forward, who scored the decisive goal in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, will wear the No. 9 shirt in Paris.

Born in Foios, Spain, on February 29, 2000, Ferran Torres began his football journey in futsal before joining the Valencia academy at the age of seven. He progressed through the club's youth system and made history in December 2017, becoming the first player born in the 21st century to appear in La Liga, featuring against Eibar on December 16. Torres went on to spend three seasons playing at the highest level for Valencia.

His performances soon attracted attention from across Europe, and in 2020 Torres completed a move to Manchester City. Working under Pep Guardiola, the Spain forward spent three years at the Premier League club, making 43 appearances and scoring 16 goals.

Torres subsequently returned to Spain with Barcelona, where he developed into an important figure in the Catalan side's attack. Across 207 appearances for Barca, he scored 65 goals, including a goal in the 2025 Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid. During his time at Camp Nou, Torres lifted three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cup trophies.

His biggest international moments, however, came with Spain. Torres was part of the squad that won the UEFA European Championship in Germany before helping La Roja claim the 2026 World Cup in North America. He became a national hero in the final against Argentina, scoring the only goal of the match to deliver Spain the biggest prize in international football. His performance also earned him the Player of the Match award.
