Arsenal, the reigning Premier League champions, have officially announced the signing of Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United.

The 28-year-old central midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Gunners, with the agreement also including an option to extend his stay for a further season.

Newcastle United will receive £75 million for their former captain, bringing an end to Guimaraes' successful spell at St James' Park.

The Brazilian midfielder was one of Newcastle's key players last season, making 41 appearances across all competitions. Guimaraes finished the campaign with nine goals and eight assists.
