Finland secured the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship title after edging past Switzerland in a tense and closely contested final that was decided in overtime.

For Switzerland it was another heartbreaking ending, as the Swiss national team suffered defeat in the World Championship final for the third consecutive tournament.

Despite falling short of the title, several Swiss players were among the standout performers of the competition, with captain Roman Josi receiving the tournament's most prestigious individual honour.
