Ter Stegen to undergo surgery on Friday

Girona have officially confirmed that goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who is on loan from Barcelona, will undergo surgery due to a hamstring injury. The procedure is scheduled to take place on Friday.
“The recovery timeline will be determined after the operation,” the club said in an official statement.
There are growing concerns that the rehabilitation process could take several months. That scenario would mean the experienced goalkeeper, signed to strengthen Girona for the second half of the season, may not only be unable to contribute but could also risk missing the 2026 World Cup.
