Atletico Madrid Cruise Past Mallorca to Cement Top-Three Status

Atletico Madrid continued their strong domestic campaign with a comfortable home victory over Mallorca in Matchday 21 of La Liga.
From the opening stages, Diego Simeone’s side controlled proceedings, patiently wearing down a disciplined but limited Mallorca outfit. The breakthrough arrived midway through the first half when Alexander Sorloth found the net, converting Atletico’s territorial dominance into a deserved lead.
To their credit, Mallorca refused to collapse immediately and remained in the contest for long spells. However, their resistance was finally broken by misfortune, as an own goal from Copete Lopez dealt a decisive blow and shifted the momentum firmly in the hosts’ favour.
