UCL: Arsenal Triumphs in Milan, Matching Liverpool’s Record

Arsenal continues to impress in the UEFA Champions League, maintaining a flawless start with a commanding 3-1 victory over Inter Milan at the iconic San Siro.
This clash was billed as a showdown between two leaders from Europe’s top leagues—and the balance of power swung firmly in favor of the Premier League. While Inter threatened in brief bursts, Arsenal never looked out of place on Italian soil.
The visitors struck early, taking the lead in just the 10th minute. A questionable shot from Timber was expertly redirected by Gabriel Jesus, who timed his run perfectly to avoid offside and nudged the ball into the net - 0-1. Inter responded quickly, and Susic fired a powerful shot into the top corner after a rebound, leveling the score.
The rapid exchange of goals set the tone: excitement was guaranteed. However, it was Arsenal who continued to seize the initiative. From a well-rehearsed corner routine on the 31st minute, Trossard flicked the ball into the box, allowing Gabriel Jesus to double his tally. Inter tried to respond before halftime with Dimarco testing Raya twice, but the goalkeeper was impeccable.
The second half started evenly, but gradually Arsenal asserted dominance. Dangerous attempts came from Eze, Timber, and Trossard, showcasing their attacking versatility. Inter applied pressure in response, yet they could not create the decisive chance to equalize. Meanwhile, Arsenal capitalized on their superior bench strength. Manager Mikel Arteta introduced fresh legs in Rice, Ødegaard, and Martinelli, shifting the game’s momentum and paving the way for the third goal.
On the 84th minute, Arsenal launched a swift counterattack following an Inter corner. Ødegaard seized the ball, and after a misfired pass intended for Saka, he calmly curled the ball into the far corner - 1-3.
With seven consecutive wins from the start of the Champions League group stage, Arsenal matches the feat last achieved by Liverpool in the previous season. While the Reds stumbled in the final match, Arsenal now have the chance to set a new record, ahead of their upcoming clash against Kairat.
