Sporting CP - PSG 2:1

Paris Saint-Germain suffered a shocking 2–1 defeat away to Sporting CP, despite dominating possession and creating an overwhelming number of chances. The visitors absorbed nearly thirty shots on goal, frustrating the French giants with disciplined defending and clinical counter-attacks.

For PSG, the game was riddled with heartbreak. Three goals were disallowed for fouls or offsides: Zaire-Emery, Nuno Mendes, and Ousmane Dembélé all saw their efforts ruled out, leaving the home fans and players increasingly frustrated.

The decisive moments came late in the second half. Former Marseille striker Luis Suarez punished PSG twice on the break, exploiting the spaces left by the attacking-minded Parisians. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia briefly restored parity with a sensational strike between Suarez’s goals, but it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.

Sporting ultimately secured victory in the closing stages, leaving Luis Enrique’s side needing a result in their final group match against Newcastle United to guarantee progression to the Champions League Round of 16.
