Valencia CF Cruise into Copa del Rey Quarter-Finals

Valencia CF enjoyed a rare night of calm and control as they booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey, brushing aside Burgos CF with a convincing 2–0 victory. Against a backdrop of domestic struggles in La Liga, the cup once again proved a welcome escape for Valencia.
The visitors wasted no time asserting their superiority over the Segunda División outfit. Inside the opening minutes, academy graduate Rubén Iranzo rose highest to meet a pinpoint corner from André Almeida, finishing clinically to give Valencia CF the perfect start.
Burgos CF attempted to respond despite torrential rain and a heavy pitch, showing spirit and aggression in front of their home crowd. However, this time Valencia avoided the defensive lapses that have so often punished them in the league, maintaining structure and composure at the back.
The decisive moment arrived early in the second half. Umar Sadiq doubled the lead after linking up with his former Almería teammate Largie Ramazani, the Nigerian striker finishing with confidence to effectively settle the tie.
