Barcelona set to trigger Marcus Rashford buy-out clause from Manchester United

Barcelona have decided to activate the purchase option for Marcus Rashford, who has spent the current season at the Catalan club on loan. The development has been widely reported by Spanish media.
The 28-year-old forward joined Barcelona in the summer of 2025 after falling out of favour under then Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim. What began as a temporary move has quickly evolved into something more substantial, with Rashford establishing himself as a key part of the club’s attacking rotation.
So far this season, Rashford has made 25 competitive appearances for Barcelona. While the England international has completed the full 90 minutes on only seven occasions, he has made a decisive impact, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists.
The forward has regularly shared playing time with Raphinha, Fermín López and Robert Lewandowski, yet has remained one of the most influential figures in Barcelona’s attacking unit. His contribution is viewed as a major factor behind the club’s position at the top of La Liga.
According to reports, the buy-out clause agreed with Manchester United stands at €30 million. Within the club, there is a strong belief that Rashford’s performances this season fully justify the investment.
