Real Madrid dealt blow as England star suffers muscle injury

Real Madrid have officially confirmed an injury to their England international defender Trent Alexander-Arnold. The right-back sustained the problem during the club’s 3–0 La Liga victory over Athletic Club in Matchday 19.
“Following tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the rectus anterior quadriceps in his left leg. His progress will be monitored,” the club said in an official statement.
Alexander-Arnold joined Real Madrid this summer after leaving Liverpool as a free agent upon the expiration of his contract. In the 2025/26 campaign, the defender has made 16 appearances for Los Blancos, contributing three assists. His spell on the sidelines now presents a significant challenge for Carlo Ancelotti’s team as the season intensifies.
