The Polish forward is expected to be fit for Sunday’s La Liga clash against Elche

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has returned to full training as he reaches the final stage of recovery from a hamstring injury. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Polish forward is expected to be fit for Sunday’s La Liga clash against Elche.

The 37-year-old joined the group session alongside players who did not start in the recent El Clásico defeat to Real Madrid (1–2), completing a full training session under Hansi Flick. Until now, Lewandowski had been working on an individual recovery plan to avoid a recurrence of the injury.

His return brings a much-needed boost of optimism to Flick’s squad, who currently trail their arch-rivals by five points in the title race. The Polish veteran’s experience and finishing ability could prove crucial as Barcelona look to regain momentum in the coming fixtures.

Mundo Deportivo also reports encouraging progress in the recovery of goalkeeper Joan García, who underwent knee surgery after suffering a torn meniscus in a La Liga match against Oviedo on September 27. Initially expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks, García’s rehabilitation has gone better than planned, and he may return to the squad as early as this weekend’s fixture against Elche.
