Morocco U20 made history on Sunday night, defeating six-time champions Argentina U20 2-0 in the final to lift their first-ever FIFA U20 World Cup trophy.

The match got off to a nightmare start for Argentina, who were reduced to ten men early on after their goalkeeper received a straight red card for a last-man foul. Morocco immediately capitalized, with rising star Mohamed Zabiri curling in a superb free-kick to open the scoring in the 12th minute.

Zabiri struck again just before the half-hour mark, smashing home from the back post after a well-placed cross, giving Morocco a commanding 2-0 lead and silencing the South American side’s supporters.

Argentina had a golden chance to respond before halftime, but Matteo Silvetti squandered a one-on-one opportunity. Moments later, Otman Maamma nearly made it 3-0 for the North Africans with a dazzling solo run, only to be denied by a goal-line clearance.

In the second half, Morocco shifted to a more cautious, defensive approach, managing the game with composure and discipline. The final whistle sparked scenes of jubilation, as the Atlas Lions clinched a historic title and capped off a fairy-tale run in the tournament.
