Marcus Rashford Named UEFA Champions League Player of the Week
Barcelona winger Marcus Rashford has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week following his standout performance on Matchday 1 of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 27-year-old England international played a decisive role in Barça's 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, netting both goals in a brilliant individual display that earned him the official Man of the Match award.
Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United this summer, and he wasted no time in making his mark on European competition for the Catalan giants.
UEFA confirmed the award on its official website, with Rashford beating out stiff competition from a talented shortlist that included Francisco Trincão (Sporting CP), Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus), and Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan).
