Sevilla - Elche 2:2

It was a night of drama at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán as Sevilla narrowly avoided a home defeat, battling to a 2-2 draw against a determined Elche side in a pulsating La Liga encounter.

The hosts took the lead in the 28th minute through academy product Isaac Romero, who coolly finished to cap off a dominant start by Sevilla. But after the break, Elche turned the tide. Brazilian winger Neto sliced through the defence with a brilliant solo run, setting up André Silva for the equaliser.

The storyline took a poetic turn when former Sevilla striker Rafa Mir — whose wages are still partially paid by the Andalusian club — stepped up to curl home a stunning free-kick, putting Elche 2-1 ahead and silencing the home crowd.

Just when it looked like the visitors would steal all three points, youngster Peque came to the rescue in the dying moments, latching onto a loose ball to fire home and secure a vital point for Sevilla.
