Villa have bolstered their squad with two high-profile additions

Aston Villa have bolstered their squad with two high-profile additions, signing Harvey Elliott from Liverpool and Jadon Sancho from Manchester United as the summer transfer window closes.

Harvey Elliott joins Villa on an initial loan deal, which includes a mandatory purchase clause worth £35 million. Liverpool insisted on the buy option given Elliott’s long-term potential and belief that regular Premier League football will accelerate his development. The 21-year-old is already a key figure in England’s U21 setup and has shown flashes of brilliance at Anfield.

Jadon Sancho, meanwhile, arrives on loan from Manchester United after turning down a move to AS Roma earlier in the window. Juventus also showed interest, but Villa have secured the winger’s services for the 2025/26 season. The 25-year-old spent the last 18 months on loan at both Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, but neither club opted to make the deal permanent.
