Girona - Sevilla 0:2

Sevilla FC secured their first victory of the La Liga 2025/26 season with a confident 2-0 away win over a struggling Girona side.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Alphon capitalised on a defensive mistake by Girona. Just before half-time, Isaac Romero struck the post, but the striker made no mistake after the break, curling a precise shot into the far corner to double Sevilla’s lead.

Despite having several chances to get back into the game, Girona failed to convert and were denied by the solid goalkeeping of Ørjan Nyland. Defensively, the Catalan side looked vulnerable throughout.

Notably, Girona, who now have three Ukrainian players on their books, featured none of them. Viktor Tsygankov was left out of the squad entirely, Oleksandr Krapyvtsov remained on the bench, and Vladyslav Vanat is still finalising his registration with the club.
