This marks the most expensive transfer in the club's history

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart for a club-record €80 million. This marks the most expensive transfer in the club's history, surpassing the previous record set by Aleksander Isak at €70 million.

The 24-year-old striker has been handed the unusual number 27 at his new club, a nod to his fresh start in the Premier League.

However, Woltemade's debut will have to wait, as Newcastle were unable to complete his registration in time for their upcoming Premier League match against Leeds United. The German forward will miss the clash but is expected to be available soon.
