Valencia - Getafe 3:0

Valencia CF finally got their La Liga campaign up and running with a convincing 3-0 win over Getafe at the Mestalla, bouncing back from a disappointing start to the season.

The breakthrough came early, as centre-back Mouctar Diakhaby headed home from a corner to put the hosts in front. It was just the spark Carlos Corberán's side needed to take control of the match.

Getafe CF had opportunities to get back into the game but failed to capitalise, and they were punished midway through the second half when new signing Arnaut Danjuma — on loan from Villarreal — opened his account for Valencia with a composed finish.

In stoppage time, striker Hugo Duro added a third, sealing a much-needed and morale-boosting win for Los Che in front of their home fans.
