The Yellow Submarine have reportedly reignited their interest in the 27-year-old

Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk has made it clear: if he’s to leave AS Roma, his preferred destination is Villarreal, according to a report from Spanish outlet El Gol Digital.

While Roma have yet to finalize their plans for the 2025/26 season, Dovbyk appears to have made up his mind. A return to La Liga — a league he’s already familiar with from his time at Girona — is high on his agenda, and Villarreal seems to be the club that fits both his ambitions and style of play.

The Yellow Submarine have reportedly reignited their interest in the 27-year-old, having made initial enquiries earlier this summer. However, financial terms are proving to be a sticking point. Roma value Dovbyk at around €30 million, while Villarreal are only willing to negotiate a loan deal with an option to buy — believed to be capped at €20 million. That figure is seen as significantly below expectations by the Giallorossi.
