PSG Target Ilya Zabarnyi for UEFA Super Cup Squad
Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on the signing of Ukrainian centre-back Ilya Zabarnyi, with the French champions aiming to register the 21-year-old in time for the upcoming UEFA Super Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, August 13.
According to L’Équipe, the deal is “virtually done,” with only minor details left to finalise. Negotiations have reportedly slowed due to the persistence of Bill Bornut — a key figure in the selling club — who is attempting to secure additional terms before giving the green light.
Despite the final touches still being negotiated, PSG remain confident that Zabarnyi’s arrival will be made official within days. The reported transfer fee is set at €63 million, making it the second-highest sum ever paid for a Ukrainian player — just behind the €70 million Mykhailo Mudryk commanded in his 2023 move to Chelsea.
