The 26-year-old striker will sign a contract keeping him at the Emirates until June 2030

According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the long-running saga surrounding Viktor Gyökeres has finally come to an end — the Swedish striker is set to join Arsenal from Sporting CP.

The Gunners have agreed a deal worth €63.5 million, with an additional €10 million in performance-related bonuses. The 26-year-old striker will sign a contract keeping him at the Emirates until June 2030.

In a move that underlines his desire to join Mikel Arteta’s project, Gyökeres reportedly turned down €2 million in wages to help facilitate the transfer and ease the final stages of negotiation.

Gyökeres delivered an astonishing season in 2024/25 with Sporting, scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions — a level of output that put him firmly on the radar of Europe’s top clubs. He also featured in 26 matches for the Sweden national team, scoring 15 goals.
