PSG Launch Final Offensive to Sign Illya Zabarnyi
Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their pursuit of Ukrainian defender Illya Zabarnyi, with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi personally entering the talks in what could prove to be a decisive moment in the transfer saga, according to RMC Sport.
The 21-year-old centre-back, currently playing for AFC Bournemouth, has been on PSG’s radar for several months. The French champions are reportedly ready to offer €60 million, while Bournemouth are holding firm at €70 million. Despite weeks of discussions, the two clubs have yet to narrow the gap.
The direct involvement of Al-Khelaifi — a figure known for unlocking complex transfer deadlocks — could provide the breakthrough PSG desperately need. His previous interventions in stalled negotiations have often tipped the balance in the Parisian club’s favour.
Adding further weight to the potential deal is the recent sale of Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool, which has provided PSG with both liquidity and greater room to manoeuvre under UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations. With funds available and a clear defensive target in mind, PSG are now pushing for a swift resolution.
