Spain’s top-flight clubs begin their quest for domestic glory

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially confirmed the key dates for the upcoming La Liga 2025/26 season, with fans now able to mark their calendars for one of the most anticipated campaigns in recent memory.

The new La Liga season will kick off on the weekend of August 16–17, 2025, as Spain’s top-flight clubs begin their quest for domestic glory. The full fixture list is now available on the official league website.

All Eyes on El Clásico

The dates for El Clásico — the iconic rivalry between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona — are always circled first, and this season is no exception. The first encounter will take place in Madrid on October 26, 2025. The return leg is scheduled for May 10, 2026, at the Spotify Camp Nou, potentially with major title implications.

Other Key Competitions

The Copa del Rey will begin on September 27, with the final set for April 25, 2026. As tradition now dictates, the Spanish Super Cup will once again be hosted in Saudi Arabia, with the semi-finals and final taking place between January 7–11.
