After two underwhelming campaigns, Beşiktaş are preparing for a major squad overhaul

After two underwhelming campaigns in the Turkish Süper Lig, Beşiktaş are preparing for a major squad overhaul aimed at reviving their domestic and European ambitions. The Istanbul giants, who could face Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers, have placed the attacking line at the top of their summer wishlist.

According to multiple Turkish media outlets, Beşiktaş are planning to part ways with veteran striker Ciro Immobile and highly-rated prospect Semih Kılıçsoy, both of whom are expected to leave the club in the coming weeks. In their place, the Black Eagles are targeting not one but two high-profile forwards.

Striker Duo in Sight: Patrik Schick and Vedat Muriqi

Beşiktaş have opened negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen for Czech international Patrik Schick, who is seen as the ideal focal point of a revamped attack. Talks are progressing, though a final agreement has yet to be reached.

The club is also eyeing a return for former Fenerbahçe striker Vedat Muriqi, currently with RCD Mallorca in La Liga. The 30-year-old Kosovan, who has netted 35 goals and provided 11 assists in 118 league appearances for the Spanish side, is reportedly open to returning to Turkey. Beşiktaş are believed to be ready to offer around €5 million for his services.

Flank Reinforcements: Marcus Rashford and Gonçalo Guedes

In wide areas, Beşiktaş have made headlines by expressing interest in Marcus Rashford, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa. While it's unclear whether Manchester United would sanction a permanent move, the player's name alone suggests serious intent from the Turkish club.

Simultaneously, discussions are underway with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding a deal for Portuguese winger Gonçalo Guedes. Wolves are said to value the 28-year-old at around €11 million, though Beşiktaş hope to negotiate a lower fee.

Midfield Focus: Salih Özcan Wants Homecoming

In central midfield, the top priority remains Salih Özcan of Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga outfit reportedly want €5 million, while Beşiktaş have opened talks with an offer closer to €3 million. Encouragingly for the Istanbul club, the 27-year-old is said to be keen on a return to his native Turkey — a factor that could help close the gap in valuations.
