FC Barcelona have officially confirmed the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Joan García from RCD Espanyol. The 24-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at Camp Nou until the summer of 2031, signalling the club’s long-term faith in his potential.

Espanyol will receive a transfer fee of €25 million for their academy product, who played a key role between the posts last season. García made 38 appearances in La Liga, conceding 51 goals and keeping 8 clean sheets for a side that battled defensively throughout the campaign.

García's arrival adds competition to Barça's goalkeeping unit and is seen as part of a broader project to refresh the squad with young, domestic talent.
