UEFA has carried on with its week of European draws, unveiling the matchups for the Europa League

UEFA has carried on with its week of European draws, unveiling the matchups for the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round. While the fixtures are already set, many of the clubs involved — including Shakhtar Donetsk — must first clear the opening round to reach this stage.

In the first qualifying round, Shakhtar Donetsk will face Ilves Tampere of Finland. Should they progress, the Ukrainian side will take on Turkish giants Beşiktaş — a club very familiar to Shakhtar’s newly appointed manager, Arda Turan, given his deep roots in Turkish football.

The potential second-round tie would begin with the first leg at Vodafone Park in Istanbul on July 24, with the return leg scheduled for July 31. The clash promises high drama and continental pedigree if both sides meet.
