This season will be only the second under the revamped format

Although the new European season is yet to begin, 29 clubs have already secured their place in the main stage of the restructured UEFA Champions League 2025/26.

This season will be only the second under the revamped format — a single 36-team league table has replaced the traditional group stage. Each team will play eight matches against eight different opponents, drawn from four seeding pots.

Let’s take a look at the seeding situation as it currently stands. The final seven slots will be filled via the ongoing qualification rounds.
