Napoli Pull Out of Georgiy Sudakov Talks Amid Shakhtar's Firm Stance
It looks like Napoli are officially out of the race to sign highly-rated Ukrainian midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, with negotiations collapsing over Shakhtar Donetsk’s unwavering valuation.
According to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, the Serie A side walked away from the table after becoming increasingly frustrated with Shakhtar’s asking price. Napoli were reportedly willing to offer €35 million, but the Ukrainian champions refused to budge from their €40 million demand.
The stand-off led to a complete breakdown in talks, as neither side showed willingness to compromise. With the deal now off the table, Sudakov’s next destination is likely to be outside of Italy’s reigning champions.
Interest in the 21-year-old continues to grow across Europe. Reports in England suggest that AFC Bournemouth are prepared to meet the €40 million valuation. Juventus, Aston Villa, and FC Porto have also been linked with Sudakov, although the seriousness of their interest remains unclear at this stage.
