Postecoglou’s success on the continental stage wasn't enough to save his job

Tottenham Hotspur have shockingly parted ways with head coach Ange Postecoglou, just weeks after he guided the North London club to their first major trophy in 17 years.

The Australian tactician led Spurs to glory in the UEFA Europa League and secured qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League — a return to Europe’s elite that many fans had long awaited.

However, Postecoglou’s success on the continental stage wasn't enough to save his job. A dismal domestic campaign saw Tottenham lose 26 matches across all competitions — the worst season in the club’s history in terms of defeats — ultimately leading to the board's decision to make a change.

The dismissal comes as a surprise to many, with no clear successor in place. The suddenness of the decision has left fans and pundits alike speculating about the next step for the club, which appeared to have finally turned a corner under the former Celtic boss.
