Report: Cristian Chivu Appointed as Inter Milan Head Coach
According to Fabrizio Romano, Cristian Chivu has signed a two-year contract to become the new head coach of Inter Milan, following his arrival at the club’s headquarters earlier today.
The 44-year-old former Inter defender and current Primavera (Under-19) coach will take over the first team after the surprise departure of Simone Inzaghi, who left the club shortly after their Champions League final appearance against Paris Saint-Germain to join Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
Although Chivu lacks senior managerial experience, his work with Inter’s youth setup has earned him praise, particularly after guiding the Primavera to a Campionato Primavera 1 title. His deep knowledge of the club and strong connection with its culture were key factors in the board's decision to promote from within.
Chivu returns to the spotlight with expectations running high at the club. As a player, he was part of José Mourinho’s historic treble-winning Inter side in 2010, and fans will be eager to see if he can inspire similar success from the touchline.
