South Korea have officially booked their ticket to the FIFA World Cup 2026 after a clinical 2-0 victory over Iraq, sealing at least second place in Group B of the AFC qualifiers. With 19 points now in the bag, the Taeguk Warriors are mathematically uncatchable in the standings.

But the real fairytale belongs to Jordan. For the first time in their footballing history, the Jordanian national team has qualified for the World Cup. Their dream became a reality thanks to Iraq’s defeat, which leaves the Iraqis unable to overtake Jordan in the final round of AFC qualifying.

Earlier in the qualifying campaign, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Japan had already secured their places at the 2026 tournament, which is set to take place from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
