The move marks a significant step up for the young English forward, who now has the chance to prove himself on a bigger stage

Chelsea have officially confirmed the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, in a deal worth €35 million. The 22-year-old striker has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2031.

Delap, who impressed during the 2024/25 campaign with Ipswich, netted 12 goals and provided 2 assists across 40 appearances in all competitions. His powerful presence up front and sharp finishing caught the attention of top Premier League clubs — but it was Chelsea who secured his signature.

Known for his physicality, off-the-ball movement, and work ethic, Delap is expected to add depth and dynamism to Chelsea’s attacking options under the club’s current manager.

The move marks a significant step up for the young English forward, who now has the chance to prove himself on a bigger stage, potentially featuring in key fixtures in the Premier League, FA Cup, and European competitions.
