Chiesa remains determined to earn a recall to the Italy national team

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is reportedly weighing up a return to Serie A as he looks to reignite his international career with Italy.

The 27-year-old made just six appearances in the Premier League during Liverpool's title-winning campaign, having joined the Reds from Juventus last summer. With game time limited under Arne Slot, Chiesa has hinted he will use the upcoming off-season to consider his options.

Despite plans to report back for Liverpool's pre-season training, Chiesa remains determined to earn a recall to the Italy national team—a goal that, by his own admission, will require consistent minutes on the pitch.

“That’s something to think about during the summer,” said Chiesa.

“My family, my agent and I have a great relationship with Liverpool, and the goal is to be ready for the pre-season. We’ll find the best solution for everyone.

“I work every day with a Liverpool program to be in top shape for the tests on July 8.”
