Lunin has now committed to staying at the Santiago Bernabéu

Andriy Lunin has reportedly decided to stay at Real Madrid despite months of speculation surrounding his future. According to The Athletic and multiple Spanish outlets, the Ukrainian goalkeeper is ready to fight for the starting role under new head coach Xabi Alonso.

The 26-year-old had been linked with a summer exit, frustrated by limited minutes behind Thibaut Courtois. However, Lunin has now committed to staying at the Santiago Bernabéu in hopes of securing more consistent playing time during the upcoming campaign.

Real Madrid signed Lunin from Zorya Luhansk in 2018 for €8.5 million, and while his development has included several loan spells, he has steadily grown in stature within the club. In the 2024/25 season, Lunin made 14 appearances across all competitions, conceding 19 goals.
