Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballers of all time, has officially announced his departure from Al Nassr, bringing an end to a historic chapter in the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese icon took to Instagram to share a heartfelt farewell following the club’s final game of the season.

This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” wrote CR7, posting a photo in the yellow and blue of the Riyadh-based club. His current contract with Al Nassr is set to expire on June 30.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo continues to defy the odds, finishing the season as the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League with an impressive 24 goals. Notably, his announcement comes just days before FIFA opens a special transfer window from June 1 to June 10, allowing the 32 participating clubs in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup 2025 to register new signings.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022 following the Qatar 2022 World Cup, becoming the first major European superstar to make the move to Saudi Arabia. At the time, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner hinted that he could finish his legendary career with the Saudi club.
