Lucas Vázquez set to leave Real Madrid

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Lucas Vázquez will leave Real Madrid this summer after deciding not to extend his contract with the Spanish giants.

The 32-year-old full-back is expected to complete the current season and feature in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, before becoming a free agent in July. The decision to part ways with the club is reportedly linked to Real Madrid’s expected signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, a move that would significantly reduce Vázquez’s playing time next season.

In the 2024/25 campaign, Vázquez has made 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 7 assists. A reliable and versatile player, he has served both as a right-back and winger during his long tenure at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Luka Modrić also remains a potential departure. The Croatian maestro’s contract has yet to be renewed, casting further doubt over his future at the club.
