Real Madrid Lose David Alaba and Ferland Mendy for the Rest of the Season
Real Madrid have been dealt another major injury blow, confirming that defenders David Alaba and Ferland Mendy will miss the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The club announced that Alaba, the 32-year-old Austrian international, has suffered a torn medial meniscus. The experienced centre-back made just 14 appearances this season without registering a goal or assist.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old French left-back Ferland Mendy has picked up a muscular injury. He featured in 31 matches across all competitions for Los Blancos, contributing two assists.
With both defenders ruled out, Carlo Ancelotti will need to rely heavily on the depth of his defensive unit as Real Madrid continue their pursuit of silverware in La Liga.
