Neymar is unwell again

Neymar will not feature for Santos in their opening match of the 2025 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A against Vasco da Gama, according to Globo Esporte. The 33-year-old forward is still recovering from an injury sustained in March, and there is currently no confirmed return date.

Head coach Pedro Caixinha has made it clear that the club will not rush Neymar back into action, stressing the importance of avoiding setbacks.

“We’re preparing him first for full training sessions, and then for competitive matches. Patience is key,” Caixinha said.

Santos have confirmed Neymar is undergoing a gradual rehabilitation program and will be assessed on a weekly basis.
