Gyökeres, now 26, is eager to return to England as a European star

Victor Gyökeres, the prolific striker of Sporting Lisbon, is reportedly ready to make a return to the English Premier League. The Swedish forward, who previously played for Brighton, Swansea, and Coventry, has been in sensational form since joining Sporting in 2023, scoring an impressive 82 goals in 90 matches.

Gyökeres, now 26, is eager to return to England as a European star. While initial speculation linked him with a move to Manchester United, where his former manager Rúben Amorim is in charge, financial constraints and United's failure to qualify for the Champions League have made this reunion unlikely.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Gyökeres has set his sights on joining one of the Premier League's top clubs, with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City being his preferred destinations. His contract with Sporting includes a release clause of €90 million, but the club is reportedly willing to accept offers around €70 million.

In addition to Premier League interest, Gyökeres has also attracted attention from European giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain. Regardless of the destination, it seems increasingly likely that Gyökeres will leave Sporting this summer.
