Football

Former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has put forward a radical idea aimed at making football more entertaining and reducing the number of goalless draws.

“You shouldn't go to a stadium, spend 100, 200, or even 300 euros, and watch a game that ends 0-0,” Piqué stated. “Something has to change. One idea worth considering is that if a match ends goalless, neither team should earn any points.”

While Piqué’s suggestion has yet to gain traction at the official level, it could spark discussions about incentivizing attacking football and discouraging overly conservative play.
