La Liga Insists: Olmo Should Not Finish Season with Barcelona
La Liga president Javier Tebas is firmly against the idea of Dani Olmo finishing the season with Barcelona. While he has agreed to allow the player to stay until April, as permitted by Spain's highest sports court, Tebas made it clear that this arrangement should not extend any further.
The reason for Tebas's stance is simple: he believes that Barcelona had more than enough time to sort out their financial situation, and that Olmo should have been fully aware of the club's ongoing struggles when he made his decision.
"Since August, Barcelona had four months to find solutions. But they wanted to solve everything quickly, in just three days. On January 3, the guarantees we requested came through because the company seemed financially unstable, then they went to court and resolved the issue within 24 hours. This allowed Olmo to extend his registration. But when he signed his agreements, he knew there was a possibility he might not be registered by December. He was aware of the risks. He should not finish the La Liga season with Barcelona. We’ve made our position very clear," Tebas told Marca in a recent interview.
