Valencia Salvages Draw at Villarreal
For the first time this season, Valencia managed to string together three matches without a defeat, but it wasn’t easy. The Che had to fight hard for their point on the road.
Villarreal took the lead in the 32nd minute with a stunning goal from Abdoulaye Gueye, putting the hosts firmly in control.
As the match neared its end, Villarreal thought they had doubled their advantage, but the goal was ruled out for offside, keeping the scoreline intact.
However, the hosts' defensive lapses cost them. First, they allowed a long ball over the top to Rafa Mir, and when Conde saved his one-on-one shot, Sadiq Umar was left unmarked to slot home the rebound.
In the end, Valencia managed to escape with a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
